31 years ago, I joined my husband David on the Olson family farm in Carvel. I learned to drive tractor, grain truck and work cattle. I learned the value of community and co-operatives and how helping your neighbour is sometimes the only currency you need. My rural roots run deep and I’m thankful for the life we’ve made here and the 2 beautiful children we raised along the way.
I’m running for Parkland County Council to make a positive impact on Division 5 and the County collectively, through
transparent leadership, good governance and thoughtful planning for the future. I am:
- Dedicated to preserving our rich agricultural assets while exploring value add options including development opportunities.
- An advocate for rural business and encourage diversification.
- Determined to protect our environmentally sensitive areas and watersheds through consultation and collaboration with the partners committed to these lands and waters.
- Invested in ensuring Hamlets and small pocket communities feel connected and supported.
- Committed to facilitating understanding of high-level municipal documents through use of plain language, explanation and direction as needed.
I look forward to working for you as Division 5 Councillor within a forward thinking, cohesive Council in the spirit of collaboration and transparency.
